Drone Policy
BLUF: Senior DoD civilians at the ASD level are interested in drones, and I am building a set of policy proposals to try and destroy the barriers that are preventing your unit from getting better. Help me help all of us. This proposal when completed will go from a DASD to an ASD and hopefully beyond. I think there is a window of opportunity after the drone EO to seize.
We all know DoD is behind on integrating and employing drones at the tactical level. In order to clearly address all of the issues that impact our utilization of these tools, I have broken down the issue into five components, each with their own barriers.

If you have a particular issue that is affecting your use case, even if it isn’t sof specific, I want you to share it. None of us know the whole ecosystem, especially within DoD, but here’s a chance to improve your foxhole by getting info straight to decision makers without worrying about rice bowls, peos, or oers. If there’s a process that’s broken, and authority you need, something you’ve been told is impossible, integration that isn’t happening, policy used to delay or deny, all of it is fair game.
Please enable me to show the scope of the input. This admin likes “ground truth”, so include your contact info or send me a message on the side so I can at least give context if you don’t want to label your proposal publicly.
I’ve got about a month flash to bang for this so I encourage you to share your thoughts. Be cool in the spreadsheet though, follow the format and don’t delete other people’s input.
Thanks all
